Red Hat Crowned Leader among Private Cloud Software Suites

Red Hat Cloud Infrastructure (RHCI) has been named a leader among private cloud software suites by the renowned research firm, Forrester Research. The announcement was made in “The Forrester Wave™: Private Cloud Software Suites, Q1 2016” and “The Forrester Wave: Hybrid Cloud Management Solutions, Q1 2016” reports. Assessment criteria included current offerings, market presence, and strategy of the vendors and Red Hat top scored in all the aspects.

“Red Hat … leads the evaluation with its powerful portal, top governance capabilities, and a strategy built around integration, open source, and interoperability. Rather than trying to build a custom approach for completing functions around operations, governance, or automation, Red Hat provides a very composable package by leveraging a mix of market standards and open source in addition to its own development,” “The Forrester Wave™: Private Cloud Software Suites, Q1 2016” report noted.

Expressing their views on the private could market, Forrester notes that the private cloud market “is growing because more I&O professionals see private cloud as the platform to enable their customer experience transformation. When selecting a solution, enterprises look for speed to provision, control of access and fully published APIs.” In “The Forrester Wave: Hybrid Cloud Management Solutions, Q1 2016,” Forrester indicated that, “Sixty-five percent [of survey respondents] say they already use more than one public and/or private cloud platform, indicating that the hybrid cloud is a reality today.”

Adding another feather in the Red Hat cap, “The Forrester Wave: Hybrid Cloud Management Solutions, Q1 2016” named Red Hat CloudForms a leader among other hybrid cloud management vendors too. This double bonanza is surely going to boost Red Hat’s private cloud and cloud management portfolio further. Having registered significant growth in the previous quarter post collaboration with Microsoft, Red Hat is all set to enable “smoother deployment of a complete private cloud spanning infrastructure and management platforms.”
