It is console-based and ensures “light use of system resources.” It can monitor more than one interface at a time and used without root permission. For the artistic Sys Admins there is color option.
  5. Bmon: It is a small bandwidth monitor with various input and output modes. It helps to debug your network. It gets hold of the statistics related to the network and offers it in a user friendly way. The best part is that if required you can interact with this tool through scripting and even curser.
